The Muse

Recently, I’ve been interested in muses - of what it means to be/have one, and what relationship a muse has had with the artist over time.

Is ‘inspired’ art a celebration or exploitation of the muse?
Will reframing the traditionally held notion of the muse make them more acceptable to our world today?
Did the change from the muse being a platonic deity to a lover fetishize the idea?
Does being the inspiration behind someone’s work take the freedom away from the muse to tell their own story?
Is the romanticization of the muse indicative of a greater concern in our society?
Can the muse ever be seen as a progressive concept?
Does the artist’s muse have a place in the modern world?
